What you are telling yourself

And what the record says

You say
The truth
“They are all the same.”
Twelve years of one party gave you ₦1,596 petrol, ₦60,000 rice and 11,968 people killed in conflict in 2025. Keeping them is a choice too.
“My vote will not count.”
Votes are counted in front of voters at every polling unit and the sheet is posted. Stay, watch and take a photo. That is how you make it count.
“I don’t have time.”
It is one Saturday: 16 January 2027. The next four years take every day.
“It is not safe.”
Go early, go with your people, and go together. There is safety in numbers.
“Nothing will change.”
Nothing changes when the people who suffer most stay home. That is exactly what they are counting on.
Why so many gave up

What happened in 2023, and what is different in 2027

Millions of Nigerians did not give up because they were lazy. They gave up because of what they saw in 2023. Those reasons are real. So is the answer.

“My vote will not count.”
2023

The results portal failed on presidential election day. A quarter of result forms were still missing when the winner was declared.

2027

Every voter is a portal. We photograph every result sheet at the polling unit before it leaves, and run our own count on the night.

“They will rig it anyway.”
2023

Many voters went home after voting. In Adamawa a winner was announced while votes were still being counted.

2027

The Osun Script: nobody goes home. 372,934 citizen agents, and citizens at every ward and LGA collation centre. In Osun in August 2026, it worked.

“The courts will not help.”
2023

The results were upheld. The Supreme Court ruled that uploading results in real time was not mandatory.

2027

We are not waiting for a court. We protect the count where it happens, and every result sheet photo is evidence.

“The opposition is divided.”
2023

Three main challengers split the vote. Together they won far more votes than the winner’s 8.8 million.

2027

South and North on one ticket: Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. One ballot: NDC.

“Nobody turns up anyway.”
2023

Only 26.7% of registered voters came out, down from 43.7% in 2015. 68.5 million stayed home.

2027

Mobilise 20: each of us brings twenty, logged on the Mobilisation Platform across all 176,846 polling units.

“Things might get better under them.”
2023

Many gave the new government a chance: “let the poor breathe.”

2027

We have seen the result: inflation peaked at 34.8% (December 2024), the naira fell to ₦1,690, 35 million in food crisis. 93% now say wrong direction.

“It is not safe.”
2023

Cash scarcity from the naira redesign, violence and intimidation kept many at home.

2027

Go early, go with your twenty, and stay together. There is safety in numbers, and 20 million witnesses are watching.

To you, who has given up,

You are not lazy and you are not foolish. You are tired. Twelve years of broken promises would tire anybody.

But not voting is not neutral. When you stay home, the people who bought votes for ₦2,000 decide for you.

You do not have to believe in a politician. Believe in the number: 68.5 million people who stayed home last time. If a small part of them come out, everything changes.

Give Nigeria one more Saturday.

Where these numbers come from

INEC declared results and registered voters, 2023 (93,469,008 registered; 26.71% turnout); non-voters are our arithmetic. Anambra 2025 observer reports (₦2,000 vote buying). ACLED; NBS; Lagos market prices. 372,934 citizen agents is our arithmetic on INEC counts: two at every polling unit (176,846) and at every ward (8,809), LGA (774), state and FCT (37) and national collation centre.

Every figure on this site comes from a named public source, checked in September 2026. Where we did the arithmetic ourselves, we say so.
