To every INEC official and ad hoc staff,
One day, a child will open a school textbook and read about the 2027 election. That child may be your son, your daughter, your grandchild.
They will read one of two stories. In one, Nigerians came out in their millions, the officials counted honestly, and the country finally turned a corner. In the other, the people voted and the result was changed somewhere between the polling unit and the collation centre.
You decide which story they read. Not the politicians. You. Every honest result sheet is a line in that story. Every signature is a promise to the future.
We are not asking you to favour anybody. We are asking you to count what the people voted, in the open, and to sign only what is true. That is all it takes to rewrite Nigeria’s story.

Your future generation depends on what you do in 2027. Count what the people voted. Sign only what is true.
2023 left a wound
The 2023 general elections did not ensure a well-run transparent, and inclusive democratic process as assured by INEC. Public confidence and trust in INEC were severely damaged.
The results portal failed on presidential election day. A quarter of result forms were still missing when the winner was declared. In Adamawa, a winner was announced while votes were still being counted. 2027 is your chance to heal that wound.
INEC officials are Nigerians too. You buy the same ₦60,000 rice and the same ₦1,596 petrol. Your salary lost its value like ours. The result you declare decides your own family’s next four years, not only ours.
What an honest officer does on 16 January
- Open on timeVoters are waiting from early morning. Every late start is a lost vote.
- Accredit every eligible voterUse the BVAS for everyone, the same way, whatever party they support.
- Count in the openLet party agents, observers and voters watch every ballot.
- Post the result sheetPaste it at the polling unit and let people photograph it.
- Upload what you countedWhat goes to the results portal must match what the people saw.
- Refuse what is wrongNo money, no pressure, no pre-filled sheet. If anyone threatens you, report it to observers and the security agencies. The people will stand with you.
On 16 January 2027 the most powerful person in Nigeria is the officer who refuses to lie.
One day your grandchild will ask: “Where were you in 2027?” Give them an answer you are proud of.
