To the police:You suffer this government
too.

You stand in the sun at the checkpoint. You buy the same petrol and the same rice. This page is written with respect, from Nigerians who want you safe and well paid.

To every officer, inspector, sergeant and constable,

When the naira fell, your salary fell with it. The ₦70,000 minimum wage was worth $43.50 the day it was signed. Your pay, like ours, buys less every month.

You are asked to do too much with too little. The Inspector-General himself has said Nigeria needs about 190,000 more police officers. Kidnappers took 7,825 people in one year. You face them with old vehicles and little support.

When the orders came to stop protesters at Lekki in 2020 and during #EndBadGovernance in 2024, it was the uniform that the public remembered, not the people who gave the orders.

On 16 January 2027 you have the chance to show the country who the police really serve.

Election day

Protect the voter, not the politician

In the Anambra governorship election of November 2025, observers reported votes being bought for ₦2,000 each “in the full glare of security personnel”. You are better than that. Nigerians are watching, and so is history.

Your job on election day is simple and noble: keep voters safe, keep thugs away, protect the ballot box and the result sheet, and treat every party the same.

To every police officer: protect the voter, not the politician. Your salary lost its value too. Your children need a new Nigeria too.
